The Kaiserliche Stall is a former stable building in the Mosern district of the Ausseerland community Grundlsee in the Styrian district of Liezen . It is a listed building .

history

In 1568 a fish master's house was mentioned at the beginning of the lake on the front Clausen . This is the still existing forester's house at Mosern 19, which was renovated a few years ago by the owner, the Austrian Federal Forests . In addition to Anger and Wiesen, a barn and a riding stables belonged to this fishmaker's house . One of them is the so-called Imperial Stable. Its name is reminiscent of the time when the Fischmeistergut was still "Kaiserlich -hoch Forst ärar ".

"The Vischmeister at Crunglsee has two khuefuehr", a legal entry from 1787, allowed the fish master to keep two cows. This entry was also noticed by the forest officials. The foresters on the north and south sides of the Grundlsee were each able to place a cow in the imperial stable. Hay was stored on the wooden upper floor.

In 1928 the entire property was incorporated into the Federal Treasury and in 1941 became the property of the Reich Forest Administration of the German Reich . In 1947 it returned to the possession of the Republic of Austria , which passed it on to the Austrian Federal Forests in 1952. The former stable has not served as a stable since then, but was used as a storage room and payment room for the lumbermen.

In 1987 the Grundlsee community acquired the property including the imperial stable from the Austrian Federal Forests. The stable has been leased by the Grundlsee Cultural Working Group since 1992 and used for various exhibitions during the summer months. At first only one room could be used, in 1995 two more rooms could be adapted as exhibition rooms for the exhibition “Das Wiener Burgtheater am Grundlsee”. The two wooden upper floors have been completely available for exhibitions since 1996. The brick-built ground floor is used by the working group as a work and storage room.
