history

In 1987 the Kaiserslautern Warriors were founded by some American football enthusiasts. Due to the close proximity to Ramstein Air Base and the large number of Americans in Kaiserslautern, good American players and coaches have always been recruited. So the first two league appearances could each be concluded unbeaten with the championship. Due to a league reform, the championship in 1990 was of no value and the team remained in the third division. After a third place in 1991, the greatest success in team history was celebrated in 1992, the renewed championship in the regional league and the associated promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. Along with an overwhelmed team in the second highest division, the team began to slowly disintegrate. Many top performers ended their football careers after relegation in 1993, players who had meanwhile finished their studies in Kaiserslautern left the city and the club. Long-time coach Bill Stuard also ended his active engagement. Nevertheless, the 1994 regional league season was very successful under the new coach and ex-player Matthew Toney and it was up to two games before the end to win the league. However, this prevented the Trier Saints , who surprisingly won both games. In the following year, the Warriors took part again in regional league games, but the team fell apart. In 1996 the board was no longer able to report enough active players, which led to the remaining players looking for other clubs. High achievers migrated to the higher-class clubs Dillingen Steelhawks or Rüsselsheim Razorbacks , which sparked a dispute in the board, which ended with the resignation of the president. Thereupon the dissolution of the association was decided.
