Calf (heraldic animal)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The calf is in the heraldry an emblem and a common character not often found in very crest.

Shown from the cattle pet breed is a young cow (calf) in smaller size with no or very short horns and an often drooping tail. The latter hanging, since the upright form or the form folded over the back is reserved for the representation of the bull, and the form placed between the rear legs is reserved for the cow. The tinging is done according to the heraldic rules and can vary for the reinforcement . As for all heraldic animals, the running direction is heraldic right, without mentioning. The animal can be standing, running or bursting out.

The calf in the coat of arms is known as a talking figure in the city arms of Kälberbronn, Kalbe and Calbe an der Saale.
