Kaleb McGary (born February 22, 1995 in Fife , Washington ) is an American football player on the offensive tackle position who played college football at the University of Washington . In 2019 he was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL draft .

Early years

McGary attended high school in the suburb of Fife, Tacoma , Washington. He later went to the University of Washington , where he also played college football. Here he won the Morris Trophy in 2018, an award for the best offensive line player in the Pacific-12 Conference .

NFL

McGary was selected 31st in the first round in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons . In his first year in the NFL, he was named a starter in the position of right tackle for the Falcons. He completed all 16 games of the season as a starter.

Personal

McGary lived with his parents on a farm in Washington State , but due to financial difficulties it had to be sold. In the meantime, his family lived in a trailer. McGary was diagnosed with an arrhythmia , which is why he had to undergo several procedures in his first two years of study.
