Potassium aluminum silicates

Potassium aluminum silicates (also potassium aluminum silicates ) are chemical compounds from the group of silicates . They occur as natural minerals in the form of the various potash feldspars (KAlSi 3 O 8 ; microcline , orthoclase , ...) . Potassium aluminum silicates are used in food technology as a release agent , for example for powdered foods. In the pharmaceutical industry it is used as a pharmaceutical excipient in medicines . When taken orally , it is excreted unchanged by the human organism. It is in the EU as a food additive the number E 555 admitted with maximum limits of 10 grams per kilogram for certain foods in spice and food supplements or Eiermalfarben without maximum limit ( quantum satis ).
