Kalonzo Stephen Musyoka (born December 24, 1953 in the village of Tseikuru, Eastern Province ) is a Kenyan politician. He was the Kenyan Foreign Minister for the Kenya African National Union (KANU) from 1993 to 1998, then Minister of Education and Tourism and from December 2007 to April 2013 Vice President of his country.

In the conflict over Uhuru Kenyatta's nomination as the successor to President Daniel arap Moi , Musyoka separated from KANU before the election in 2002 and joined the Liberal Democratic Party with other KANU rebels, which then joined the Democratic Party (DP) and several smaller parties founded the opposition alliance of the National Rainbow Coalition , which Mwai Kibaki (DP) put up as a presidential candidate and emerged victorious from the 2002 election.

In the first Kibaki government, Musyoka took over the foreign ministry again. The first coalition quarrels resulted in a cabinet reshuffle in 2004, in which he was given the less influential Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources.

After the constitutional referendum in 2005 , he lost his government office and went into opposition with the LDP MPs . Here he helped build the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), which then split before the 2007 election.

Musyoka led the ODM-Kenya, the smaller of the two groups that emerged from the split, and was nominated by her as a presidential candidate. He received almost 10% of the vote.

His party won 15 seats in the parliamentary elections, including 13 of the total of 17 seats in Kambaland , making the ODM-Kenya an important regional party.

Kalonzo is the owner of the Mwingi Hotel Cottage in the Mwingi District.
