A cold paint is a protective paint made from bitumen solutions or emulsions that are to be processed cold .

He is z. B. in the building industry in outdoor areas as a primer with good adhesion and deep anchoring for subsequent hot or cold liquid adhesive paints, top coats and coatings based on bitumen as well as bitumen welding membranes . The cold paint prevents rising damp in the masonry by sealing off the capillary effect of the bricks. It is also suitable as a roof waterproofing for all common mineral substrates as well as for substrates with residues of bitumen paint and bitumen roofing membranes. The processing can be done by brushing, rolling or applying with a suitable spray device.
