Joint council

The joint municipal council has 30 elected members. In addition, there is the directly elected Samgemeinde mayor . Since the local elections in 2016, it has included councilors from three parties and electoral communities.

The next local elections will take place in 2021.

Joint mayor of the municipality

Bernhard Hummeldorf (CDU) has been the full-time mayor of the entire municipality since the beginning of 2005. He replaced Josef Löcken, who had held this position on a voluntary basis since 1991. With the introduction of the full-time joint mayor in 2005, the post of joint municipality director , Werner Thele at the time, was also abolished. Maria Lindemann has been mayor of the municipality since 2019.
