Calvary Gnas
The Gnas calvary stands on the eastern edge of Gnas in the market town of Gnas in the district of Southeast Styria in Styria . The Kalvarienberg is under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
The Calvary was laid out in 1609 and renewed several times, most recently in 1958.
architecture
The small single-nave church with its one-tower facade and the 3/8 end is labeled "Anno 1833" at the entrance. The decoration with a large mural of the resurrection behind the altar and the colored glass windows is more recent.
A certain Maitz (1958) painted the representations on the wayside shrines of the 14 Stations of the Cross as sgraffitos . The conclusion is a crucifixion group, the donors are inscribed on the base of Mary: "Michael Ploder" and "Susanne FF 1740".
