Kamøyvær

Kamøyvær is a fishing village in the Norwegian municipality of Nordkapp . The village is located in the middle of the Kamøyfjord on the east side of the island Magerøya , around 10 km northwest of Honningsvåg . Kamøyvær has around 70 inhabitants. The place, which has been populated since the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, has a kindergarten and a school.

During the Second World War , the area was occupied by German troops. In the course of the withdrawal of the troops, Kamøyvær was completely destroyed on November 6, 1944 as part of the Northern Lights company .
