Kami no Hidarite Akuma no Migite ( Japanese 神 の 左手 悪 魔 の 右手 , dt. "The left hand of God, the right hand of the devil") is a manga series by the Japanese artist Kazuo Umezu , which is assigned to the horror genre. The manga, which was created from 1986 to 1989 and has around 1,200 pages, is aimed primarily at an adult, male readership and can therefore be assigned to his genre.

The six-year-old boy Sō has a strong sixth sense . In his dreams he sees himself as Numera Umera, who can heal with his left hand and kill with the right. As that person, he resolves supernatural cases in his dreams. However, he can hardly distinguish between reality and dream and sometimes also solves cases by killing people even though he is not in a dream world. His sister Izumo is also drawn into macabre and supernatural events.

Publications

Kami no Hidarite Akuma no Migite was published in Japan from 1986 to 1989 in weekly individual chapters in the manga magazine Big Comic Spirits , in which Naoki Urasawa's Yawara! has been published. The Shogakukan publishing house published these individual chapters in six anthologies from May 1987. The manga was later reissued in four Bunkoban volumes.

filming

The manga was filmed in 2006. Directed by Kaneko Shūsuke . It is based on an episode of the manga.

The boy Sō is played by Tsubasa Kobayashi . The film tells of a father who often brings his disabled daughter Momo with him. These are very cruel and always end with a girl dying. The man is also a serial killer who recreates the stories of the fairy tale books and whose murders Sou witnessed in his dreams. These experiences are so intense that the boy has to be hospitalized because of mysterious wounds all over his body. He confides in his sister Izumo (played by Asuka Shibuya ), who goes in search of the murderer. She is led by Sō, who can reach her via a broken cell phone. On her search, she meets Yoshiko who is looking for one of the dead girls. Soon both fall into the hands of the murderer.

The film was presented at the 2006 Fantasia Festival in Montreal .
