Kamia Yousufi ( Persian کیمیا یوسفی; * May 20, 1996 in Mashhad , Iran ) is an Afghan athlete .
biography
Yousufi was born in Mashhad , Iran , to her parents from Kandahar , Afghanistan . In her athletic career, she specialized in the 100-meter run . For Afghanistan, she took part in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . In the first run of the preliminary round over 100 meters , she set a new Afghan national record with 14.02 seconds, but failed to qualify for the first round in 22nd place.
On May 16, 2017, she improved the national record in Baku again to 13.94 seconds.
