Kamikos

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kamikos is after the Greek mythology a capital of sicani on Sicily . Daidalos is said to have built the fortress there for the Sican king Kokalos .

The location of Kamikos is believed to be near Sant'Angelo Muxaro . No traces of the castle have yet been found, but the necropolis with dome tombs carved out of the rock near the village suggests an important settlement during the late Bronze Age and the Iron Age .
