Kaministiquia is a community in the Thunder Bay District of the Canadian province of Ontario, west of Lake Superior . The place is on Highway 102 about 30 km west of the city of Thunder Bay . The Trans-Canada Highway runs 3 miles west of Kaministiquia. The population was 587 according to the census in 2006. Kaministiquia is located at the mouth of the Matawin River in the Kaministiquia River .
