Kamloops Memorial Arena
The Kamloops Memorial Arena is an ice hockey stadium in Kamloops , Canada built between 1948 and 1949 . The ice rink replaced earlier venues in and around Kamloops and in the following decades was the home ground of various teams in the Western Canada Hockey League : the Kamloops Chiefs (1973–1977); the Junior Oilers (1981-1984) and the Kamloops Blazers (founded 1984).
The last regular league game of the Blazers took place in March 1992 in the arena before it was replaced by the then newly built Sandman Center . Today the Memorial Arena serves as a basketball arena and home of the Kamloops Midget AAA Lions .
