history

The Vancouver Nats were relocated from Vancouver , British Columbia , and renamed Kamloops Chiefs prior to the 1973/74 season . After the Chiefs had missed the playoffs in their first season as the sixth of the West Division, they reached them in the next three years. The team from British Columbia achieved their greatest success when they lost 4-2 to the Saskatoon Blades in the best-of-seven series in the 1975/76 Conference semifinals . In the summer of 1977, the franchise was sold and relocated to Seattle , Washington , and renamed Seattle Breakers , where it has since participated in the WHL gaming operations - now as Seattle Thunderbirds .
