history

The Vancouver Nats were formed as a franchise of the Western Hockey League prior to the 1971/72 season . In both of its seasons in the WHL it missed the playoffs when it finished sixth and last. Of the 136 regular season games that the Nats played, they won only 27. In the summer of 1973, the franchise was sold and relocated to Kamloops , British Columbia, where it then took part in the game operations of the WHL under the name Kamloops Chiefs .

The void left by the Vancouver Nats resettlement was not filled until 2001 by the Vancouver Giants' WHL franchise .
