The Schwansbell arena is a football stadium in Lünen . The stadium is the home ground of Lüner SV .
The pure football stadium was opened in 1958 and is located at Schwansbeller Weg 7a in Lünen. The capacity is approx. 8,000 places. In the 1960s, the stadium was designed for up to 10,000 spectators. It was named after Schwansbell Castle , which is located in the immediate vicinity . The audience record of 11,000 visitors comes from June 1967, when Lüner SV played a regional league promotion game against VfB Bottrop (0-0). Lünen played in the then second -rate regional football league West in the rounds of 1963/64 and 1967/68 to 1972/73.
In 1963 the stadium was expanded to include an observation stand for radio and television reports.
