National monument of the Lëtzebuerger Solidaritéit on the Kanounenhiwwel

On the so-called Kanounenhiwwel (cannon hill ) in the city of Luxembourg stands the national monument "Luxembourg Solidarity".

It was erected to commemorate the dead of World War II and to commemorate the resistance and solidarity of the Luxembourg people against the German occupation . The paved inner courtyard symbolizes the prisons, concentration camps and barracks. A simple uncut stone in the chapel represents the victims of the war. An eternal fire burns in front of the monument .
