Cape Hurley is an icy headland on the East Antarctic George V coast . To the east it marks the exit of a depression occupied by the Mertz Glacier .
Participants of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered the cape. Mawson named it after Frank Hurley (1885–1962), the photographer on the research trip .
