Cape Spencer-Smith is the northern cape of White Island in the Antarctic Ross Archipelago off the east coast of the Victoria Land .
Participants of the 1958-1959 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition made the name. Namesake is Arnold Spencer-Smith (1883-1916), member of the Ross Sea Party led by Aeneas Mackintosh in the endurance expedition (1914-1917) of the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton , who died of emaciation and scurvy during this venture .
