Cape Yelcho is a cape on the northwestern extension of Elephant Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands .

The cape was named by participants in the British Joint Services Expedition to Elephant Island (1970–1971). It is named after the Chilean steam tug Yelcho , with whose help the part of the endurance expedition (1914-1917) missing on Elephant Island was rescued in August 1916 .
