The Evangelical Lutheran Chapel Westerthal is a church building in Windeby at the intersection of Landesstraße 265 and Kreisstraße 57. It was built in 1954 according to plans by the architect Gerhard Lassen from Eckernförde for 40,000 DM and received a valuable one from Federal President Theodor Heuss for its inauguration in December 1954 Bible. The simple chapel was the first church to be built in the Eckernförde parish for centuries. A bell from the Bachert bell foundry was installed in 1956, it weighs 70 kg, has a diameter of 49.5 cm and cost 860 DM. The bell cover bears the inscription “Wake up and pray”. In 1965 the organ and heating were installed.

The surrounding cemetery was laid out in 1963, where the writer Wilhelm Lehmann was buried in 1968 .
