The Chapel Road in the district town Düren ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ) is an ancient city road . It is located in the Rölsdorf district .

Kapellenstrasse branches off at right angles from Monschauer Strasse in a southerly direction. It crosses the street In der Mühlenau and ends in the field markings.

The listed Marienkapelle stands at the confluence with Monschauer Straße .

history

Kapellenstrasse is named after the adjacent Marienkapelle. This was formerly known locally as the Cohnenskapellchen . The Cohnen couple had the chapel built when their son Matthias was ordained a priest on February 25, 1856 . On March 28, 1955, the city council decided to name the section over and above the street as Kapellenstraße.
