Karachi East District is an administrative district in Pakistan in Sindh Province . The district forms part of the city of Karachi and consists of the districts of Jamshed and Gulshan .
The district has an area of 89 km² and according to the 2017 census 2,907,467 inhabitants. The population density is 32,668 inhabitants / km².
location
The district is located in the south of Sindh Province, which is located in southeastern Pakistan. It forms the eastern part of the mega city of Karachi.

history
In 2000 the district was abolished and Karachi became a single district of Sindh. On July 11, 2011, the Sindh government restored the Karachi East district.
Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017, the population grew by 3.64% annually. There are 1,528,019 men, 1,379,225 women and 223 transgender people in 509,239 households , which results in a gender ratio of 110.8 men per 100 women and thus a common surplus of men for Pakistan.
