Karachi West District is an administrative district in Pakistan in Sindh Province . The district forms part of the city of Karachi and consists of the districts Lyari , Baldia , Kiamari , Orange Town and SITE Town .
The district has an area of 481 km² and according to the 2017 census 3,914,757 inhabitants. The population density is 8139 inhabitants / km².

The district is located in the south of Sindh Province, which is located in southeastern Pakistan. It forms the western part of the mega city of Karachi
history
In 2000 the district was abolished and Karachi became a single district of Sindh. On July 11, 2011, the Sindh government restored the Karachi West district.
Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew by 3.35% annually. There are 2,065,847 men, 1,848,553 women and 223 transgender people in 634,459 households , which results in a gender ratio of 111.8 men per 100 women, which is a common surplus for Pakistan.
