The Katsdorf card and local history museum is located in the old school building on Kirchenplatz in Katsdorf in the Perg district in Upper Austria . The museum was founded in 1988 by the Heimatverein Katsdorf and deals with the local history and the economic life of the place. Particular attention is paid to the cultivation and processing of the Weber card .

The museum is open from April to October on the first Sunday of the month in the afternoon and by appointment (as of December 2019).

Exhibitions

In five showrooms, visitors are presented with exhibits on the following topics: Prehistoric finds from the Katsdorf area / the weaver's card / flax cultivation / rural implements and tools / rural handicrafts / relics from the First and Second World Wars / school class.

Sponsoring association

The museum is supported by the Heimatverein Katsdorf und Umgebung, founded on June 18, 1986 . The association has around three hundred members and provides two to three circulars a year with information about its activities. The association organizes ceramic painting courses , conducts history hikes in the Katsdorf area, organizes folk evenings and special exhibitions, etc. a. m.

A folk dance group emerged from the association in 1999. In 2000 a memorial stone was erected near the former Gusen III concentration camp . In 2002, the association procured a bell for the Aegidi Church .
