from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Karen Peck and New River is an American religious white gospel band from Gainesville, Georgia . They are generally assigned to the Southern Gospel and are currently considered one of the most typical bands of this subgenre.

The band has consisted of Karen Peck-Gooch, her sister Susan Peck-Jackson and Devin McGlamery, who joined later, since 1991. Susan's husband, Ricky Gooch, was also a former member and now works as the band's tour manager and technician. When performing, they are regularly accompanied by local choirs, and the audience is also included, as is typical of gospel music. As Karen Peck, the singer had previously been a singer in the band The Nelons and various music productions since 1981 .

In addition to winning the Singing News magazine's fan award , the band has been nominated for the GMA Dove Award (2000/01/02/03/08) and the Grammy Awards (2008 and 2009).

They received the Diamond Awards ("Music recording sales certification" similar to the gold record ) for records sold for the first time in 1992, and in 2009 for the album Ephesians One as Album of the Year and the song Whispered Prayers as Song of the Year .
