Karin Müller (born September 8, 1967 in Kitzingen ) is a German writer. She also writes under the pseudonyms Robin Lyall and Karin M. Anders . She was best known for her books for children and young people as well as advice on animal communication.

Life

After graduating from the Armin-Knab-Gymnasium in Kitzingen, Müller studied applied cultural sciences at the Leuphana University in Lüneburg. In 1991 she graduated with the title Magister Artium. She first worked in local journalism for various daily newspapers and finally completed a traineeship at the Lower Saxony private broadcaster Radio ffn (radio and television Northwest Germany), which was then based in Isernhagen . Müller worked there as a culture editor until the end of 1995, later at the Madsack publishing group (Neue Presse). Her first children's book was published in 1998 under the title “The Changer” (Verlag CH.Mellinger), almost at the same time as the regional horse crime thriller “In the Last Second” (Kosmos Verlag).

In 2000 she took part in a funding program of the WAK (Business Academy in Kiel). There she studied Swedish, followed by an extended stay abroad, and made writing her main occupation. In addition to books for children and young people, she has also been writing non-fiction and advice books, mainly for pet owners.

Karin Müller has also been a certified alternative practitioner for psychotherapy since 2007. She is considered to be the first German-speaking author to publish on the subject of animal communication and related topics, such as the phenomenon of pets mirroring their owners.

She lives with her family and many pets near Hanover.

Author

Since the publication of her first books for children and young people in 1998, Karin Müller has published over 80 novels in the age groups of first-time readers to young adults and has been translated into several languages.

She became known to a wide audience primarily through the Mitrate thrillers for children Die Pferdebande and ... , of which 20 volumes were published in the 2000s, and the Nordlcht trilogy (2018/2019).

For her youth novel Unter der Sonne nur wir , published in 2017 under the pseudonym Robin Lyall, she was shortlisted for the DELIA youth literature award.
