Karin Markus

Karin Markus (born July 23, 1942 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Bremen Parliament .

biography

education and profession

After secondary school, Markus learned the profession of hotel manager in Hamburg and then initially worked as a commercial clerk in various companies. After a child break, she worked for the Bremen district association of the German Red Cross from 1984 until she retired on July 1, 2003. From 1991 to 2003 she was chairwoman of the works council .

She is currently the head of voluntary social work for the Bremen district association of the German Red Cross.

politics

Markus has been active in various positions in the SPD in Bremen since 1973. Among other things, she was on the subdistrict board, chairwoman of the local association in the garden city of Vahr , state delegate and state auditor.

For the first time, she was a member of the citizenship from June 28, 1999 to June 7, 2003. From November 10, 2005 until the end of the 2007 election period, she was again a member of the Bremen Parliament. There she was most recently a member of the Committee for Equal Rights for Women, the Performa Nord Works Committee, the State Youth Welfare Committee, the Audit Committee and she was a member of the Deputation for Home Affairs.
