Karin Rohn

Karin Rohn (actually Maria Rückert , née Maria Lenz , * 1930 ) is a former reporter for the Berliner Rundfunk , who was best known for her broadcasts on the Berlin-Friedrichsfelde Zoo . Their special feature was the tongue-R of their Bohemian homeland. That is why she was given the name "Karin Rrrohn".

Life

Karin Rohn was a saleswoman at the trade organization (HO) of the GDR until 1954 and then worked as a reporter for Berliner Rundfunk. Since the opening of the zoo on July 2, 1955, she has been reporting regularly from there in the Sunday morning program “Listening to the zoo”. The idea for the show came from Heinrich Dathe , the founder and long-time director of the zoo in Friedrichsfelde. Rohn and Dathe had conversations on Sunday since 1974; the last talk about the zoo took place shortly after his 80th birthday in November 1990. In a survey in 1990, the show was voted their favorite show by the listeners of Berliner Rundfunk. Since the end of 1989 Rohn has also been providing information from the Berlin Zoo .

Karin Rohn lives as a pensioner in Berlin.
