Karise Eden (born July 11, 1992 ) is an Australian pop singer . She won the Australian edition of the singing talent show The Voice in June 2012 .

biography

Karise Eden is from New South Wales . At the age of 13 she left her parents' home and then lived with various foster parents. At 13 she also made her first vocal performance and continued to pursue singing, although she never took singing lessons. In 2012, she took part in the first season of the singing talent show The Voice in Australia and emerged as the winner.

During the show, she placed several songs in the Australian single charts; after the finale, it took the first three places at the same time, which had previously only been achieved by the Beatles in 1964. Another song landed in fifth place, eight songs were also placed in the top 50.

Five of her song interpretations achieved gold status and her version of the Leonard Cohen classic Hallelujah went platinum, although some of the songs were only in the charts for a week before the album My Journey with their songs from the show was released. The album debuted at number one on the charts, stayed there for six weeks and was awarded double platinum.
