Karl-August Schreinzer (Russian Карл-Август Матвеевич Шрейнцер, * 1815 , † May 10, 1887 in Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian portrait and miniature painter of Austrian descent. He accepted Russian citizenship.

Karl-August Schreinzer studied at the Imperial Art Academy in Saint Petersburg . After graduating in 1850, he received the title of "unclassified watercolor portrait painter". Before portrait photography began to spread in Russia, Schreinzer received numerous commissions for portraits in watercolor and oil painting. The watercolor portrait of the architect, Professor Alexander Ivanovich Resanov , earned him the title of Academician in 1858.

From 1859 to 1873 Schreinzer held the post of inspector of the art academy, after which he was appointed curator of the academy museum. He was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir, Third Class. In the spring of 1886 he contracted throat cancer and died the next year.
