Karl-Bernhard Sebon

Karl-Bernhard Sebon (born March 6, 1935 in Düsseldorf , † April 21, 1994 in Berlin ) was a German flautist.

Life

Sebon studied at the Düsseldorf Conservatory and the Cologne University of Music . In 1957 he became principal flutist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin . In 1960 Ferenc Fricsay brought him to the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra (later the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin) as solo flutist .

Sebon, for whom numerous works were composed and who also played the bass flute and lotus flute , expanded the playing technique of the flute to include the so-called Sebon trill , a three-part tremolo .
