Karl-Heinz Burwieck (born December 18, 1943 in Berlin ) was a coach in the GDR football game . In 1983 and 1984 he coached the league team of 1. FC Union Berlin .

Burwieck played in the 1960s and 1970s for the Ost-Berliner Betriebsportgemeinschaft (BSG) Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe, later renamed unit Pankow . Unit Pankow II was his first coaching station, where he initially worked as a player-coach. From 1979 to 1982 Burwieck was a trainer at the East Berlin training center Marzahn. On July 1, 1982 he became assistant coach under Harry Nippert at the league promoted 1. FC Union Berlin. When Nippert resigned as head coach in September 1983 after four defeats in the first six league games of the 1983/84 season, Burwieck, who had meanwhile acquired the sports teacher diploma, took over the league team as the responsible coach on matchday 7. He was also unable to improve the level of the team, at the end of the season they were tied for points and goals with Chemie Leipzig in 12th place. In two play-off games for relegation, Burwieck's team lost 1: 1 and 1: 2 and rose for the fourth time their league history. For the 1984/85 season, Burwieck had to relinquish his post to Karl Schäffner and was again assistant coach. The coaching duo Schäffner / Burwieck managed to return to the league immediately and stayed together at Union until the end of 1987. When the Unioners got into a tailspin again during the 1987/88 season and ended up in the last league table position after the first half of the season, both coaches were relieved of their posts. Until the end of the season Burwieck worked in the youth department of 1. FC Union and then took over the training of East German league promoter Stahl Hennigsdorf for one season in the summer of 1988 . After that, Burwieck was no longer active in higher-class football.
