Karl-Heinz Flechsig
Karl-Heinz Flechsig (* March 7, 1932 ; † February 16, 2010 ) was a German educationalist, until 2000 he was a professor at the University of Göttingen .
Life
After graduating from high school in 1950, Karl-Heinz Flechsig worked in mining. This was followed by studies in English, Romance studies, pedagogy, philosophy and sociology up to the state examination 1951–1956. After working as a grammar school teacher from 1956 to 1960, he became a research assistant in the subject of pedagogy 1960–1962 and received his doctorate in 1963. He then worked in university adult education from 1963 to 1964 and headed the working group for teaching research at the University of Göttingen from 1964 to 1968.
As a professor of educational science he worked from 1968 to 1971 at the University of Konstanz and from 1971 to 1975 as a professor for university didactics and head of the "Interdisciplinary Center for university didactics" at the University of Hamburg , and finally from 1975 as a professor for education at the University of Göttingen 1989 with the focus on "intercultural didactics".
He also worked as a lecturer for the subject "Intercultural Didactics" since 1994 at the Technical University of Dresden , where he received an honorary doctorate in 1997 . He retired on March 31, 2000.
Services
Flechsig created the Göttingen catalog in which he describes the basic forms of didactic activity. He was a pioneer in intercultural education .
