Karl-Heinz Muddemann

Karl-Heinz Muddemann (born January 15, 1950 in Holzwickede ) is a former German racing cyclist .

Athletic career

Muddemann had the greatest success of his career at the age of 20. He won the overall ranking of the International Rhineland-Palatinate Tour in 1970 without having won any of the ten stages. At the end of the season he became a professional driver , his first team was the Belgian team Flandria-Mars , in which Roger de Vlaeminck was the captain. A year later he moved to the German team Ha-Ro , which was integrated into the Rokado team in 1973 . In 1972 he was runner-up in the road race behind Wilfried Peffgen and competed in the Tour de France . He finished the tour in Paris as 52nd overall. With second place at the Grand Prix of Gippingen , he was able to achieve another top position. In 1971 he drove the Vuelta a España , which he finished 55th. In 1972 he was 13th at the UCI Road World Championships and thus the best German driver.
He started four times in the Tour de Suisse , and 34th place in 1972 was the best result.
