Karl-Heinz Strasbourg (born April 18, 1944 - † October 26, 2017 ) was a German politician , teacher and sports bowler from Wittenberge . From 2001 to 2003, Strasbourg was chairman of the city ​​council of Wittenberge.

Strasbourg worked for a long time as a teacher and most recently as deputy headmaster.

Politics and community work

Strasbourg was also involved in the political life of his hometown. He has been a city councilor for the CDU since 1994 . From 2001 to 2003 he was also chairman of the city ​​council . From 2003 to 2008 he was a member of the Prignitz district council for the CDU parliamentary group.

Most recently he worked as chairman of the CDU parliamentary group of the city of Wittenberge and as city councilor until 2014 . In addition, he was a member of the main committee, the works committee for culture, sports and tourism, and the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Wittenberges.

Strasbourg was the chairman of the working group that organizes the Wittenberge town and harbor festival every year.

Sports

Strasbourg was a successful bowler for many years. In 1977 he won the GDR championship with the BSG CM Veritas Wittenberge . In addition, he became district individual champion in 1973. With the senior team of SV Grün-Rot he won two national championship titles after 1990 and with the Prignitz selection he was twice national club champion. From 1975 to 1990 Karl-Heinz Strasbourg served as the relay leader of the GDR Oberliga Bohle women.
