Karl-Peter Chilla

Karl-Peter Chilla (* 1949 ) is a German church musician, organist and composer.

life and work

Chilla studied Protestant church music in Berlin . From 1982 to 2014 he worked as cantor in Dillenburg and as provost cantor in the provost of North Nassau. He taught the subjects of children's choir conducting, school choir conducting, liturgical singing and hymnology at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts . In 2002 he received the title of Choir Director BDC of the Working Group of German Choir Associations (now: Federal Association of German Choir Associations ). He was involved as a speaker in the field of further training for choir conductors and organists.

Chilla founded the Dillenburg Organ Summer concert series . He retired in 2014. He gave his last organ concert in July 2019 after 55 years of concert activity.
