from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Karl Theodor Molinari Foundation e. V. (KTMS; often referred to as the Molinari Foundation ) is the educational institution of the German Armed Forces Association (DBwV). It was founded on December 19, 1988 in Bonn. The subsidiary of the DBwV is a non-profit registered association . The name Karl Theodor Molinari Foundation goes to Major General a. D. Karl-Theodor Molinari (1919–1993), founding member and first federal chairman of the German Federal Armed Forces Association, back.

The work that has been done in the field of political education since the association was founded was put on a new organizational and administrative basis with the establishment of the educational center. The foundation acts as an independent institution in the group of public and private educational institutions.

aims

The KTMS primarily offers educational opportunities for adults , u. a. in the form of seminars, symposiums, colloquiums and meetings. In addition, scientific work and basic research in the focal points of the statutes (domestic, foreign and social policy in relation to the armed forces and Europe, state political analysis and current political events in Germany, Europe and the world) find direct support.

Political education

The foundation enables participants to broaden their civic knowledge. In addition, the KTMS events help to find attitudes to current political issues, to reflect on them and to express them in a justified manner. The educational institute thus directly trains the willingness for civic engagement on a democratic basis and no less the argumentation and action competence, especially of the members of the DBwV (as the primary target group).

program

The educational offers, each presented to the public in an annual program (in October for the following year), are not only open to soldiers or other members of the DBwV. In principle, every interested citizen can take advantage of the offer.

The educational offer is divided into several series of seminars:

  • Society / State / Politics / International Relations (series of 10),
  • Social policy - old-age pension systems (20 series),
  • SaZ seminars for career entry (25 series),
  • Practical training in rhetoric (30 series),
  • Vocational education and training (50 series),
  • Maritime security issues (60s series),
  • Security Policy Colloquia (70s series) and
  • International youth exchange (80s series).

More than 2500 people take part in the more than 50 events organized by the Bildungswerk each year.

Wolf-Graf-von-Baudissin-Medal

The Karl Theodor Molinari Foundation has been awarding the Wolf Graf von Baudissin Medal since 2002:

International youth exchange

By participating in an international youth exchange (80s series), the foundation enables a large number of young people between the ages of 16 and 18 to take part in the international "Army Cadet Exchange". German young people get to know individual countries abroad during an exchange program, for example the USA, Canada, Australia, Great Britain or South Korea in 2008, and foreign cadets visit Germany.

Publications

The Bildungswerk publishes key developments in the areas of security policy and armed forces, such as the results of scientific events or fundamental research contributions, in its book series “Forum Innereführung ” ( Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft ) or in the series “Research News” (self-printed). One focus here is the further development of the "Inner Leadership" concept in the Bundeswehr and the exemplary effect of this leadership concept (leadership philosophy, corporate identity) in the European context. The Molinari Foundation supports young scientists with grants for printing costs for honors exams (subject areas of the statutes) and thus contributes directly to the publication of the latest research results.
