The Karl-Volkmar-Stoy-Schule , formerly Paradiesschule , is a state vocational school center for business and administration in Jena .

history

On December 9th, 1844 Karl Volkmar Stoy founded the Jena Pedagogical Seminar with an elementary school as a practice school. In 1858 a new school building for the seminar practice school - the "Johann Friedrich School" - was inaugurated.

Stoy was not only connected to the city of Jena through its educational work, but the “Stoyschen Erziehungsanstalten” and his later place of work, the “Johann Friedrich School”, were located exactly on the premises of today's school.

A monument erected behind the gym in the 1930s was implemented and is now in the school's playground.

On January 14, 1999, the student company Junioren Kaufmann Jena e. V. (JKJ), where students run a company under the guidance of a teacher and gain practical experience.

Since September 5, 2002, the State Vocational School Center for Economics and Administration in Jena has been named after the university educator Karl Volkmar Stoy. Richard Brömel has been the headmaster since 2008.
