Karl Grossmann (musician)
Karl Grossmann (born June 3, 1910 in Uznach ; † February 24, 1992) was a Swiss Schwyzerörgeli - and accordion player . He was entitled to live in Uznach and learned the professions of toolmaker and mechanic and worked in the Oerlikon machine factory . In addition to his main instruments, he also played the oboe , trumpet and clarinet in various music associations in the vicinity of Rapperswil SG . At the age of 19 he moved to Zurich ; one of his regular musical venues in this city was the Konkordia restaurant.
In 1933 Karl Grossmann settled in Chur and worked there as a conductor, composer, music publisher and teacher. Due to his origins, his own compositions correspond to the concert style of Central Switzerland, which he performed with his Ländlerkapelle in the line-up of clarinet / accordion / bass violin .
