Karl Honeder (politician)

Karl Honeder (born August 15, 1946 in Kirchschlag ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Honeder was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1998 to 2008 .

Life

After completing compulsory school, Honeder attended an agricultural college and trained as an agricultural master. As a result, he worked as an independent farmer in Kirchschlag from 1970, where he was awarded the professional title of economics council. In the political arena, Honeder was active as mayor of Kirchschlag between 1975 and 2010, and from 1985 he was also chairman of the district chamber of farmers in Ottenschlag and from 1985 chairman of the district council of farmers. He also acted as chairman of agricultural cooperatives and represented the ÖVP between April 16, 1998 and April 10, 2008, most recently not standing in the state elections in 2008 and leaving the state parliament at the end of the legislative period. Honeder was most recently the agriculture spokesman within the ÖVP state parliament club.
