Life

Karl August Eugen Manoury was a son of the dragoons and bridge overseer August Manoury. His father belonged to the 7th generation of a Huguenot family that had been settled in Groß Ziethen in 1686 . After attending grammar school in Schwedt, Manoury began studying theology, which was interrupted by the First World War. In 1931 Manoury succeeded Joseph Chambon as pastor of the French Reformed community in Potsdam. He held this position until his retirement. At the same time he was pastor at the French Cathedral in Berlin.

Karl Manoury died a few months after the death of his wife. The family's grave is in the French cemetery in Berlin's Chausseestrasse.
