The Protestant village church Etzdorf is located in the Etzdorf district of the Heideland community in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish (parish area) Crossen in the church district Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

location

The village church is centrally located in the village on Dorfstrasse on a higher level between the Elster and Saale valleys .

history

Originally a small Gothic church from the 14th century stood here.

1777–1779, the current church was built in the Thuringian peasant baroque . The manor owner and patron of the church Ludwig Otto von Etzdorf was immortalized three times - in the tower flag , on the west portal and on the mansion box (FLOVE)

The church was completely restored in 1980. In the years after 1990 it was given its baroque color scheme.

Furnishing

At the pulpit altar figures are mutually of Moses and Aaron posted. He is crowned by the risen Christ .

With two manuals and 18 registers , the organ was built in 1779 by Christian Sigismund Voigt from Uhlstädt . In 1917 the pipes were melted down for war purposes.

The bells were also melted down during the First World War. They have been replaced by steel bells that have been ringing electrically since 1964.
