Karl Pfirsch

Karl Heinrich Pfirsch (born November 30, 1877 in Schweinfurt ; † 1967 ) was a German director at Krupp who was indicted and acquitted in the Krupp trial .

Life

In mid-July 1902 Pfirsch started his employment at the cast steel factory of Friedrich Krupp AG . He quickly made his career at the Krupp company: in October 1914 he became an authorized representative , in December 1917 he became an authorized signatory , in February 1920 he was a department director and in November 1923 he was already deputy director. From 1927 he was a manager in the war material department of the Krupp company.

At the time of National Socialism , he joined the NSDAP on May 1, 1937 ( membership number 5,608,734) and was also appointed military economist . During the Second World War , he finally became a deputy member of the Krupp board in March 1941 and was responsible for the company's war material sales. From April 1943 to mid-December 1943 he was a deputy board member and responsible for the company's headquarters in Berlin. According to Lex Krupp , he was a deputy director from December 1943. He belonged to the board of directors of Fried. Krupp Berthawerk AG in Markstädt near Breslau . He was also on the advisory board of the AGK . Pfirsch was awarded the War Merit Cross 2nd Class and the Commander's Cross of the Bulgarian Order of Merit.

After the end of the war, he retired in July 1945. Soon after, Pfirsch and other members of the Krupp board of directors were arrested and imprisoned. In the course of the Nuremberg trials , Pfirsch was indicted in the Krupp trial, but was acquitted on all counts on July 31, 1948 as the only defendant in this trial.
