Karl Schmalzbauer

Karl Schmalzbauer (born October 31, 1895 in Weikertschlag an der Thaya , † December 28, 1967 in Pressbaum ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer . Schmalzbauer was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1949 to 1964 .

Schmalzbauer was a farmer in Weikertschlag and was mayor of the community from 1924. He was also involved in the cooperative sector and was in military service during World War II. After the end of World War II, Schmalzbauer was a local councilor between 1946 and 1950 and then mayor again from 1950 to 1955. He then held the function of a local council from 1955 and acted as deputy mayor between 1960 and 1965. Schmalzbauer was also chairman of the district chamber of farmers in Raabs and chairman of the district council of farmers and chief district party chairman of Waidhofen an der Thaya. He was awarded the professional title of Economics Council. Schmalzbauer represented the ÖVP from November 5, 1949 to November 19, 1964 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
