Karl Troll (politician)

Karl Troll (born March 10, 1923 in Knittelfeld , † August 17, 1977 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and head of the Chamber of Commerce. From 1966 to 1977 he was a member of the National Council .

After completing compulsory school, Troll attended vocational and technical college and completed work experience as a fitter. He was the managing director of an installation company in Knittelfeld and worked as a fitter from 1945 to 1946. In 1947 he became the regional representative of the ÖGB youth and the socialist youth, after which he worked as the area secretary of the metalworkers' union. From 1963 he was head of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees in Leoben.

Troll became involved as a functionary in the Socialist Youth from 1946 and between 1946 and 1948 held the office of chairman of the metalworkers' union in the Knittelfeld local group. Between 1948 and 1955 he was a member of the Federal Youth Board in the ÖGB and from 1950 district party chairman of the SPÖ Leoben. He also acted as a chamber councilor for the Chamber of Labor and Employees for Styria. Troll represented the SPÖ in the National Council from March 30, 1966 until his death.
