Karl Ucakar

Karl Ucakar (born June 7, 1947 in Sankt Michael ) is an Austrian lawyer and political scientist.

Ucakar studied law at the University of Vienna (graduating with a Dr. jur. ) And was already politically active as a student within the VSSTÖ . 1970–1972 he completed a postgraduate education in political science at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna, until 1974 he worked as a research assistant at the said institute. As part of this activity, he completed the Essex Summer School for the Social Sciences Data Analysis and the Essex Summer School in Quantitative Methods in History in 1973. 1974–1985 he worked as an assistant and lecturer at the Institute for Political Science at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences at the University of Vienna. In 1984 he completed his habilitation in political science at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences at the University of Vienna with the text: Democracy and Suffrage in Austria. For the development of political participation and state legitimation politics . Since 1985 he has been Professor of Political Science at the University of Vienna.
