Peter Gerlich

Peter Gerlich (born December 17, 1939 in Vienna ; † June 13, 2019 there ) was an Austrian political scientist .

Life

Peter Gerlich studied law and political science at the University of Vienna from 1958 to 1963 . After his doctorate in law (1964), a postgraduate course in political science at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna followed from 1964 to 1966 . There he was assistant professor from 1966, from 1967 to 1974 head of the political science department. 1974 to 1975 he was a professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig . From 1975 he was full professor for political science at the University of Vienna; he retired in 2009. Since 1982 he has also been a professor at Webster University Vienna . His thematic focus included comparative political science , political systems and party research . He was buried at the Grinzing cemetery .
